One of the greatest challenges our community (the Aikido community) is facing, is the realization that the forms we do are not Aikido, they are simply a tool to help us practice Aikido. Confusing this point often means that students believe that they need to put them selves in position to do a technique (as shown in a form)- instead of realizing that position is more important than technique, and should never be sacrificed in order to simply "do a technique". This is a very subtle point, pay close attention to it, it will drastically improve your Aikido!
