That said, should it take place during a pandemic with coronavirus spreading across the world? The answer to that question is complicated, but I can say this: we are definitely in different territory than we were on April 18th. That's not true even a little, but by a lot and on some major grounds. There's an athletic commission involved, the mayor and governor are on board, the Association of Ringside Physicians are no longer opposed, Jacksonville in the north of Florida is not a Covid-19 outbreak hotspot and much more.
That doesn't mean there aren't risks being taken, perhaps inadvisably. There are no tests being given to fighters to take after their flights home, for example. All of that should be noted. However, the argument that the May 9th show is no different than what was planned for April 18th is completely wrong. This is different and that deserves to be noted, too. This is taken from my radio program, The Luke Thomas Show, which airs weekdays at 3 pm ET on channel 156.
