About the Talk :

How Varna is determined in Hindu Dharma?
Aravindan explains that Varna is determined by Svadharma and not by birth (alone). Svadharma is one’s own dharma or duties that are enjoined upon oneself as per Svabhava (one’s inherent nature). He clarifies that it is your inherent nature that determines your duties in life. It is interesting to observe that Dharma is never imposed by any centralized agency. It never comes from the top-down approach. On the contrary - It is always explored from within. It is not an act of faith but an experience to be realized. Svadharma is your personal choice, not a social imposition
