Writing Unit 5 (From Scenes to Series, Writing Fiction), Lesson 2 (Put the Character in Trouble) Good writers put their character in trouble, or come up with a problem, when writing a fiction book!

Step 1: Reread the 3 pieces of information about your character (from last class)
Step 2: Use that information to help you think of a problem

Don't forget to follow the writing process when coming up with a problem! Using the 3 pieces of information about your character, think of a problem first, then say it out loud, draw the problem next, and then write the problem down! You may use the following sentence starter to help you:

Be creative and have fun! This is your story--just make sure it's realistic! I can't wait to read about the trouble your characters are getting into!
