Pile discharge with size segregation [velocity]

Simulation of filling and discharge of a pile with a particle size distribution. The discharge form a localized funnel flow. Particle size segretation occur both on the surface (sieving segregation) and in the funnel flow (percolation segregation driven by shear flow). The simulations were performed using the nonsmooth discrete element method implemented in AGX Dynamics. The particles are color coded by velocity.
