The Chinese Foreign Ministry has hit out against the Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne as she pushed for an international investigation into China's handling of the deadly coronavirus.
China have pushed back against any suggestion of further investigations as it believes the World Health Organisation didn't find "any fault with them and therefore they've done what they need to do," Mr Cheshire said.
He told Sky News host Chris Kenny when it comes to the WHO or other international institutions China is saying it "fulfilled their duties to them" and does not need to "invite independent investigators in".
He said the "aggressive response" seen towards Australia is called "Wolf Warrior Diplomacy" in China and is pushed by younger diplomats who no longer believe there is "any point in hiding their strength, biding their time".
"They want to push back".
