Hi girls, Have you ever tried to find out your hair curl pattern? If yes, today I will talk about how to determine your hair type? You must know your curl pattern in order to decide the right product for your hair type.
In this video I will share the curl pattern from 1a to 4c, post this video you'll be able to recognize your hair type very easily. Do you want to know how to determine curl pattern of your natural hair.
There are 4 different curl patterns:
Straight, curly, wavy and kinky:
Let’s begin with describing straight type
First category is type 1 which further is divided into 3 category 1a,1b,1c.
1a indicates thin straight hair
1b is medium thin hair
1c is thick straight hair
Straight hair don’t possess any type of curl and are absolutely straight from root to end.
Straight hair is super silky, soft and very shiny. It tend to be more oily as sebaceous glands secrete more serum hence straight hair is more oily. Hairstyle making is quite difficult in straight hair because of the smooth texture.
Then, comes the wavy hair that’s type 2. Type 2 is divided into 2 categories 2a, 2b & 2c.
2a- thin wavy hair
2b- medium wavy hair
2c- thick wavy hair
Wavy hair lies between straight and curly hair. It is neither straight nor curly, the density is pretty high. It has rough texture and quite voluminous. Wavy hair doesn’t look glossy because of less sebum secretion. Hairstyling is quite easy with wavy hair.
Third is curly hair, this is type 3:
3a - loose curls
3b - medium curls
3c - tight curls
Curly hair possess an S shape all along the strand. It gets tangled and frizzy easily if not taken care of properly. The density is high and look voluminous.
Last is kinky hair, type 4:
4a - soft curls
4b - wiry
4c - extremely wiry
It looks very coarse but Actually very fragile. High in density and volume.
They possess a Z shape.
