COVID-19 and Amazon's refusal to disclose cases

COVID-19 and Amazon's refusal to disclose cases A number of US-Based companies and e-commerce giant, Amazon are refusing to disclose to reporters the actual numbers of cases of COVID-19 infections and even deaths among their workforce.

These companies including the likes of Amazon, Walmart, CVS and Smithfield Foods didn't disclose their numbers to governmental officials and reporters who seek to know .

This is causing issues with trust among employees within these companies especially in Amazon which had faced lots of criticism over it's handling of the COVID-19 outbreak at it's warehouses especially while it fired some of it's workers over protesting their treatment by the company.

According to spokesperson from Amazon and Walmart, the number of cases were said to be below community numbers which is why they aren't disclosing it and especially it could be easily misinterpreted.

Could this mean Amazon is trying to keep it's workers in a positive vibe?
One of Amazon's head of operation Dave Clark said that the company also needs to put into consideration employees who had recovered and are back to work as well as the numbers can easily be mixed up.

But Amazon had said it would release the numbers if it's legally obligated to do so
