Electricity rates in Bihar are revised every year from 1st April by BERC. So this year, there have also been some changes in electricity rates.
Electricity tariff rates in Bihar have been reduced in all categories as compared to the previous year (FY-2019-2020). Here we will discuss all the categories in detail. We will discuss all the charges and penalties that have either been changed or kept the same.
summary of Electricity Tariff change (2020-2021)
Unit rate is reduced by 10 paisa for all the categories.
Meter rent is removed from all the categories.
No change in the rate of fixed charge in any tariff.
No change in delay payment surcharge(DPS): same as earlier (1.25% per month).
TOD tariff is introduced for Industrial and PWW category(optional).
Penalty for excess demand is now higher. Other than fixed charge now there is a penalty in energy charge will be charged.
