The Ministry of Health recommended the use of HCQ alongwith AZM antibiotic for use in COVID-19 patients. Dr Kunal Saha (People for Better Treatment) has moved the Supreme Court against its use without adequate precautions. He claims that the US cardiology societies have warned against its use due to many complications that may arise. In India, no informed consent is being taken (as per guidelines) from COVID-19 patients before administering this combination.
