RIDE ON STRAVA:

Functional Threshold Power / FTP is essentially the number of watts/power you should be able to hold of a bike for one hour. This is a great tool for understanding your training zones, which can lead to more effective training for cyclists. However, MOST cyclists never actually go out and ride as hard as they can for one hour to get their FTP. There are other, way more practical ways of getting FTP, such at the 20-minute test, the Half Monty, the Ramp test, the list goes on. However, given a recent video that I made on this topic and also some comments that came through. I thought I'd give the all out 1-hour test a crack on my BMC Teammachine SLR01 and a Quarq power meter fully calibrated with my wahoo element bike computer.
